大年初三
Third day of cny was spent with family and friends!
Started our early morning visit to gf's place. I know this girl for almost 10 years already! Time REALLY flies ( i know it's cliche but it's just so apt to describe). Supposed to be morning morning but we were all knocked out from the hectic night the day before and couldnt get out of bed. Ended up at her place only at almost noon. Kind of hang out with her aunt who's really nice and made efforts to mingle with us. Oh! and gave us angpao although she really didnt have to. Ate her mum's cooking which was YUMS MAX before we made a move bcos it was SO overwhelming with all her relative streaming in.

Then it was a quick trip to bf's place and then my aunt's place and then..
Fel's 21st!
Really can't stand people who make me wait for more than an hour. My limit is ONE hour and i think that's reasonable enough.
Anyway her party venue was real pretty with all the decorations. Just that it's situated in a not so convenient neighbourhood, it's really easy to get lost

大年初二
First stop, grandma's place. Just a mini stop over for lunch before heading over to small uncle's place.
As you can tell that we simply don't have anything to do, we resort to taking pictures and pictures of the floor tiles and all.
No photos at small uncle's house because we were all busy trying to earn some pocket money. And while doing that, my little cousin and niece (both p4) wouldnt stop bugging me to play with them. I honestly should have done that so that i wouldn't have to suffer a deficit of 25 bucks. Hahaha. Oh well. for the joy of cny~
Next stop, rich uncle's place. Hahaha. Buffet at his 3-story place. An annual affair.

大年初一
Unlike most people, having parents who has much more seniority than their siblings meant that their kids have the luxury of sleeping in till afternoon when relatives come over to visit. Personally, i woke up at 11+am, when my parents threatened that my unglam-ness would be exposed if I refuse to wake up any later. Lucky me, when most people barely had enough sleep after supposed 守岁。
But then again, it's really quite bored to be hanging around at home. But the irony is, it's even more awkward when people comes over. People u're not so close to. It's like going out to greet them and get ur red packets and then the awkwardness begin. Are you supposed to make small talks and act 熟 or what? It's much easier if they have kids, so you can divert all the attention to them and go goo goo ga ga about how cute they are. Naturally, me choose the alternative- retreating back to my room where my laptop is. But i did the most loser-ish thing. I started to do my public relations essay. That shows how desperate i am. Ha. But then again, that barely lasted more than three sentences.
Cousins gradually came over and got a lot more entertained and did all the normal things- catching up, setting up mini gambling den, watch dvd and a lot of drinkin (soft drinks. me still juvenile) and eating (junk food n more junk food).
Oh, i did walk over to my old hse area where my 姑姑 stays to 拜年too. She cooks the best food in the world- guo hiong, tauhu goreng, curry, pizza, u name it, she can cook it! Totally ate a lot at her place despite having dinner already.

Headed over to joel's place cos gf denied us entry. Haha.

A normal bus journey home that usually takes 5-10 minutes took double that time today. To us, it could be just another ordinary day, but to others, life had just taken a completely different turn.
Frustration was building up in the bus when the crowded bus was inching forward so slowly on an entirely straight path. People started to get impatient and peered out of the windows to find out the cause of this wait. I too, did the same because my legs were aching from all the standing. All there were, was flashing yellow-blue lights which passed off a rather ominous feeling. You hear ambulance sirens, you see crowds all around the accident site, you see police cordoning off the area- bad signs.
And fear crept in. I know i'm being silly. But it was my neighbourhood, the exact road that everyone in the family takes every single day. I rushed home. All is well.
What if it turned out otherwise?
Such, is the fragility and uncertainty of life.
/A brother was fetching his younger brother home from school on a bicycle and they got run down by an oncoming cement mixer. Bicycle flattened, both didn't make it.
Tragic.

merry merry xmas
Merry xmas!
Met yz today for a scrumptous dimsum lunch at tamp1. For a public holiday, the mall was actually quieter than usual. But somehow everybody needs to have lunch so the crowd were all congregated outside eating places. The dimsum restaurant we ate in was So crowded, we ended up in a so-called 'island seat'- the result of an impromptu table placed near the fixed sitting areas. To be more exact, we were right in the middle of the tables which made not evadropping quite the impossible.
Nevertheless, food was mega YUMS! And the table ended up looking much smaller than it really is bcos of all the dishes we ordered. Amazingly, we wiped out all our food clean. A very much appreciated and fulfilling xmas lunch :))
Of cos not forgetting our xmas exchange. And though belittle the tiny physical appearance of my small present. Major love whatever is inside. < 3
Day ended with nice cup of caramel frappe at Starbucks and photo-whoring.

merry xmas eve
i love xmas! Major love this season of giving, of physical presents, of soothing jazz music, pretty light decorations and mega sales everywhere. Single or attached, rich or poor, presents or not, they just don't matter anymore.
A holiday is a holiday- a day to rest whether or not it's a day ur religion celebrates. While i may not a christian, i think we can still adopt the fun from the special day itself- PRESENTS! Both giving and receiving that is.
As people always say "the joy in giving is much more significant than the joy in receiving". (something like that)
Arrived at work after a long holiday spent over at Genting highlands and was really astonished to find 8 little parcels sitting on my desk. Sounds logical but considering that im only a temp staff there for less than 4 months, it's just such NICE NICE NICE gestures. Totally warmed my heart!
And a prelude to the presents, they werent just chocolates or candies, mostly of them were hand chosen individually which really really melts my heart. Awww.. Got a soap&glory moisturizer mist from boss; parker pen with my name engraved, perfume, mini pouch, candy and chocolates amongst many others. Im such a blessed girl to work with nice people :))
But of cos i wasnt expecting anything at all! Thinking abt their gifts i actually felt bad for getting them only chocolates. But then again, they came together with heartfelt written notes which is priceless for sure!
Half day ytd and then spent the rest of the day at S' christmasy house. Major love his place for xmas bcos there's such a warm fuzzy cosy feeling whenever we enter. It's as though he celebrates xmas throughout the yr. His parents very nicely prepared some xmas delights for us- turkey, ham, sausage, salad, fruits and all which was REALLY REALLY sweet. Felt really bad for imposing on them so much but they were really such welcoming and brilliant hosts. :)
Did our usual catching up to fill up all e gaps of each others' lives. Enjoyed our yummy food and then had our highlight of the day- Gift Exchange! Well, i would say that we have all learnt to be better gift-getters as the years go. So all in all, i think we all had great gifts.

land of mist and fogs
Woke up with beads of perspiration all over my forehead with my back dripping wet. Really gross. And the fact that i dont usually sleep in air-conditioned rooms makes this quite a phenomenon. I guess it's a post-3d2n genting trip syndrome.
I don't usually along with my parents when they go on genting trips bcos it's one of the most boring places in the world. Plus i had just been there like months ago. But somehow something in me prompted me to wanna go. Perhaps it's the sheer lack of time in normal days that compelled me to wanna spend some bonding time with them. Plus i think i deserve to take a break from this mad reality before school officially starts come Jan. Despite it being a trip with my aunt and my not-so-shou- cousin, i still went ahead.
Well, being *ahemm* really nice n sociable, hanging with my cousin was not too bad. I kind of had a personal bodyguard the whole time. Come to think of it, i was nv alone for a single moment the entire trip. Hmmm... sounds good.
Half the time there was spent at the casino throwing money into slot machines. The other half eating, sleeping, shopping! I know how i always tell people that there is nth much to get there. But amazingly, i managed to grab 4 shirts, a pair of heels and a nice red shoulder bag. It's incredible, really. But having said that, i spent all my ringgit, every cent of it already. But then again, aside from my shopping loots, i also bought a lee cooper sandals for daddy's bday on the first day, a slice of cake, some bandage stuff from watsons, 2 magazines and alot of nonsense and all. So i guess my money was rather well-spent. right?
Celebrated daddy's bday on our first night there. Bought a slice of cake which didnt taste too good. But then again what do you expect at almost 12 midnight when all e nice bakeries had already closed. I love my daddy bcos he taught me to be selfless amongst many other things. To prevent others' from getting injured while at work, he used his bare hands to grab a flying machine part with sharp edges and had to have 3 stitches. I could even see his bones :(

But we did chill out at this nice cafe near genting hotel where you could sit outdoors and the place was awesome. All e mist and fog floating in Not forgetting the strong winds that chilled me mad. 17 degrees for genting is quite something. Feels like white xmas even though it's not snowing :)
All in all, i had a good holiday. Away from everything else you dun wanna think abt, just letting time pass as though u had all e time in e world, feeling a little richer with the difference in currency n doing everything u cant do in spore.
Coming back and rushing to cherie's 21st party @saf chalet from woodlands checkpoint is yet another story

Happy holidays!
Hurray to the long weekends. It'd been officially two months at my new workplace. Getting very much used to the workload and tempo already i guess. And I'd reached office much later than i usually would for the past 2 days. Bad sign! Gg to try and keep my records clean and not be late!
On a lighter note, so glad there's an extra day to the wkend ahead. More rest and nua-ing! Once in a while you just need to have some self therapy and enjoy the luxury of letting time pass you. Exactly what i'm doing right now! Having an entire room all to myself, air-conditioner switched on, taylor swift's new album RED playing on my playlist, surfing aimlessly looking at pretty things.. all with a bottle of cloudy apple juice on my side. YUMS! Bought it ytd night from the new Shop&Save near canteen 2 which apparently replaced the famous Nanyang mart. I guess the 7eleven will go bust very soon with the new competitor that's offering much more competitive prices.
Tried canteen 2's famous ayam penyet ytd night for dinner. Boy was it good! Crispy on the exterior and the meat inside is still tender and succulent. Super delightful even though i already had fried chicken for lunch ytd. But the aunty serving is a tad AP. =x Had salted caramel ice cream from canteen 1 after that. I'm so gg to get fat! But it was damn fulfilling! Though not wallet friendly. Haha. Good thing i dun stay ard here. Imagine me having to allocate a part of my spending on ice cream =/
In bf's room now doing my leisure stuff while he finishes his lifesaving training at the pool. Seriously, who on earth has training in school on a public holiday?! Pfmptt. But kind of enjoying the lone time. Hee! Bet it's burning outside now. Going to finish up my novel and bum ard n all before he comes back. Loving the serenity ard here. I think a lot of ppl's still in hall but i think they are all like me- Hide in the comfort of the room and not get out. Okay i did, to go to the bathroom, washing machine room and to hang out clothes.
Maybe i'll go out explore a little and walk ard a bit. Maybe, just maybe =p

Aftermath of pushing your limits- MAJOR MUSCLE ACHES
They are finally easing away alr. Can now take bigger strides and push through locomotives who strolls along bustling areas. It's Wednesday today! Midweek are a cause for celebration. Furthermore, it's a 4-day week!!
