scott's 21!

Random decision to meet up for dinner with the birthday boy.
Full attendance for once! after so long.
Even for my birthday nobody was free =/

In any case, we had dinner at the Japanese restaurant at city link where each plate was going $1ish. (cant rmb the exact price). There was no menu and what you see on the conveyor belt is exactly what you get. Almost of all of them are sashimi, some cooked ingredients here and there. By the 5th place I was kind of getting bored of the variety. Sashimi was worth the price but not as fresh as it could be.

Certainly price for money but I would rather have quality food. Sushi Tei is still my preferred choice for sashimi.

The giant boardgame below we were playing while waiting for fel to knock off. Her job for the entire day was to play the boardgame and let ppl win vouchers. We got the vouchers as well. But it couldn't be used for the sushi place, nor the ice cream place at the link. So I really wonder where the vouchers can be utilised.

I give up trying to use it. Haha.

Happy Birthday Scott! :)

bdays & joy of life

So thankful to the inventor of "birthday", because it makes us set aside our time and schedule to meet up with people we care about. People whom we might be so familiar with, it's easy to neglect them in our day to day life.

So today is the celebration of birthday boy, Cedric! (belated or not, it's the thoughts that counts!)

But because everybody else are busy studying for exams, I have no choice but to be birthday card in-charge despite the absolute lack of artistic flair in me, sadly to say. But I guess I made a commendable attempt this time (usually I would just print it out! =x). Looks pretty decent eh!

So we settled for a zi-char dinner- absolute homely touch, near our place. It was alright but I think not as satisfying as the one we had the previous time. And then we went central to have our cake session- my favourite part. I LOVE LOVE to eat cakes. #yums

And after circling the entire area and malls for a perfect cake-eating place, we ended up at our Bakerzine. The cakes look absolutely tantalising! We ordered a black forest, chocolate and a berry cheesecake. They were all yummy and fantastic in their own ways but to pick/eat the right combination of cakes takes some trial and error. Some flavours just don't mix. But good thing, our choices werent too bad.

We eventually came out with the best way/order to savour the cakes to get maximum pleasure in our taste buds. Starting from:
1. Black Forest- the creaminess and thick chocolate mousse was simply sweet indulgence
2. Chocolate cake- the cake has layers of sponge cake which makes it much lighter and fluffier than the black forest.
3. Berry Cake- The mousse makes it look as thought it would be too creamy and makes you sick after a while. But it's really the exact opposite. Ultimate lightness and fluffiness, it's refreshing to the mouth. And after all the chocolate, it's feels especially yummy.

So that marks the end of our celebration, with our friend, Joel, attempting his version of Gwiyomi.

merry xmas eve

i love xmas! Major love this season of giving, of physical presents, of soothing jazz music, pretty light decorations and mega sales everywhere. Single or attached, rich or poor, presents or not, they just don't matter anymore.

A holiday is a holiday- a day to rest whether or not it's a day ur religion celebrates. While i may not a christian, i think we can still adopt the fun from the special day itself- PRESENTS! Both giving and receiving that is.

As people always say "the joy in giving is much more significant than the joy in receiving". (something like that)

Arrived at work after a long holiday spent over at Genting highlands and was really astonished to find 8 little parcels sitting on my desk. Sounds logical but considering that im only a temp staff there for less than 4 months, it's just such NICE NICE NICE gestures. Totally warmed my heart!

And a prelude to the presents, they werent just chocolates or candies, mostly of them were hand chosen individually which really really melts my heart. Awww.. Got a soap&glory moisturizer mist from boss; parker pen with my name engraved, perfume, mini pouch, candy and chocolates amongst many others. Im such a blessed girl to work with nice people :))

But of cos i wasnt expecting anything at all! Thinking abt their gifts i actually felt bad for getting them only chocolates. But then again, they came together with heartfelt written notes which is priceless for sure!

Half day ytd and then spent the rest of the day at S' christmasy house. Major love his place for xmas bcos there's such a warm fuzzy cosy feeling whenever we enter. It's as though he celebrates xmas throughout the yr. His parents very nicely prepared some xmas delights for us- turkey, ham, sausage, salad, fruits and all which was REALLY REALLY sweet. Felt really bad for imposing on them so much but they were really such welcoming and brilliant hosts. :)

Did our usual catching up to fill up all e gaps of each others' lives. Enjoyed our yummy food and then had our highlight of the day- Gift Exchange! Well, i would say that we have all learnt to be better gift-getters as the years go. So all in all, i think we all had great gifts.

Photos up soon when i become slightly less lazy =x

For now, merry xmas! Bedtime!
