the bravery cafe

Had team lunch today together with boss to celebrate new colleague J's second month in the office.
Really, any reason for having a good lunch is just excuses.
It's really more like team bonding and just find time to hang out together amidst everybody's busy schedule (never-ending meetings and deadlines to meet).

So colleague F (aka hungrygofel- so named because she's such a foodie hunter!),
suggested to go to bravery cafe for lunch.
Finding places to lunch is no easy feat for us because despite having drivers in the team,
we can only dine at places nearby to maximum the time we have.

The Bravery Cafe is conveniently located in the east,
so super near to Windowsill that gk and i went the other time.
Upon stepping into the shop, fragrant coffee beans greeted me.
It was a really clean setting, minimalistic really.
The stools we were sitting on were like wooden crates/boxes.

The menu was simple to read, if not the servers are always ready to recommend.
Food was served rather promptly,
but one of them accidentally let the poached egg slipped.
That tells you how gooey it is!

I ordered a salmon something- pardon my bad memory
But I think there's only one salmon dish so you'll be able to figure this out.
The toast was nutty and crunchy; the salmon was really fresh.
The portion looks rather small but it's actually quite feeling.

This is the much raved about latte. It certainly lived up to its name.
Satisfying for a caffeine addict like me.

I think i would go back to try the other mains!
You should to!

BRUNCH.

It's quite nice to wake up in the afternoon and know that there is food already prepared on the table.
One of the few good things abt having a sister who's a housewife and has a kid.
Mini farfalle lightly sauteed with olive oil and tomatoes, baked chicken wings and roasted sweet potatoes, carrot and potato.
Quite a feast for lunch.

bibigo~

Sometimes a simple, random text/WA/call can spark off a whole adventure altogether.

Previously when I was working full time, I would always make it a point to have lunch with the NC colleagues at NEX, as they have free shuttle bus there every Thursday and it was only a few MRT stops away from me. However, ever since school started, it seems like I'm always working half-days on Thursday and had to leave for class mid-day. Hence, since it was my holiday and I was working the entire day, I decided to give J a text.

I guess when you make an effort for others, others will do the same for you.
Old friends still turned up to have lunch together, even though the rest of their colleagues didn't want to travel for lunch.

So, for an hour before lunch, I was busy googling and searching for a perfect lunch place for 5 of us.
And it eventually ended up with 3 choices: bibigo, rotten tomatoes and cafe cartel as most of them provides lunch set meals.

Eventually we ended up at bibigo! since none of us has been there and I was dying to try it. And boy was I glad we chose it. Ordered the special set they had which consists of 1x Seaweed Chicken Stonepot Bibimbap & 1x Kimchi Stonepot Bibimbap which both comes with a beansprout soup and a refreshing drink. All for less than $30 bucks. So worth the money.

Both of which tasted so good! It is not the most authentic Korean food I ever had, however it was rather localized and suits the Singaporean taste buds perfectly. Flavourful yet not overly salty. Egg was still flow-y, goo-ey and not overcooked. Seaweed complements perfectly. For a small tummy I have, I downed them all! We ordered the seafood pancake to share as well. It is GOOD! I would surely recommend that you order it too. Within minutes, it was gone. I would love to order another plate of those!

Definitely would go back again some other time! :)

lunch, dinner, supper

Met the boy after class today for lunch since he was in the area trying to source for art materials.
Ended up at Purvis street- so many good food down the lane.
It was so hard to decide what to it.
See how Saveur is so empty, we were quite tempted to have a go.
But I was SO SO SO hungry after class, I really craved for something more substantiate more than just french food. Heh.
So we ended up at Jai Tai.
We were second in line and the staff was quick to acknowledge our presence.
Later when ordering she was quite a help as well.
We basically went along with everything she said because everything was so yummy we thought anything she said was yummy too.
The food came and it was major thumbs up!
Not super authentic thai cuisine but I thought they customized it to suit the local palates really well.

I'll come back here for lunch anytime, anyday!

That calls for a celebration

Team lunch @Symmetry

Went out for a team lunch together at this quaint little cafe that is hidden in some discreet corner. Took a tad more time than usual but we made it in the end.
The places gives off a rustic vibe with the brick walls and dim lights. Kind of a cosy feel, perfect for a team get together. I think we were the only ones there then.
Ordered truffle fries and pasta and some of my colleagues steak.
All the dishes came with a heap of rocket veg which makes the dish quite balanced.
But too bad, Im not a fan of rockets.

Coffee there was alright, but the caramel gingerbread man is so adorable and yummy at the same time. Nothing can go wrong when there's caramel!

Nice place to chill but I probably wont be back unless someone's driving.
