bibigo~

Sometimes a simple, random text/WA/call can spark off a whole adventure altogether.

Previously when I was working full time, I would always make it a point to have lunch with the NC colleagues at NEX, as they have free shuttle bus there every Thursday and it was only a few MRT stops away from me. However, ever since school started, it seems like I'm always working half-days on Thursday and had to leave for class mid-day. Hence, since it was my holiday and I was working the entire day, I decided to give J a text.

I guess when you make an effort for others, others will do the same for you.
Old friends still turned up to have lunch together, even though the rest of their colleagues didn't want to travel for lunch.

So, for an hour before lunch, I was busy googling and searching for a perfect lunch place for 5 of us.
And it eventually ended up with 3 choices: bibigo, rotten tomatoes and cafe cartel as most of them provides lunch set meals.

Eventually we ended up at bibigo! since none of us has been there and I was dying to try it. And boy was I glad we chose it. Ordered the special set they had which consists of 1x Seaweed Chicken Stonepot Bibimbap & 1x Kimchi Stonepot Bibimbap which both comes with a beansprout soup and a refreshing drink. All for less than $30 bucks. So worth the money.

Both of which tasted so good! It is not the most authentic Korean food I ever had, however it was rather localized and suits the Singaporean taste buds perfectly. Flavourful yet not overly salty. Egg was still flow-y, goo-ey and not overcooked. Seaweed complements perfectly. For a small tummy I have, I downed them all! We ordered the seafood pancake to share as well. It is GOOD! I would surely recommend that you order it too. Within minutes, it was gone. I would love to order another plate of those!

Definitely would go back again some other time! :)

lost and found is the best feeling on earth

The thing about having a 2.5 year old baby girl at home is that she can walk, and is tall enough to reach things on the table, open the drawers and all. And that means your belongings arent safe anymore.

My dear fatty girl took my ipod to meddle n i couldn't find it ANYMORE! Major depression when my ipod is my life especially when I take public transport everyday and I badly need to block out noisy tracks or conversations that I dun want to hear about. So travelling WEST today without my ipod was damn EMO
 ='(

Got home, and started the hunt for my beloved ipod,
questioned fatty but to no avail.
And by 8pm I still couldn't find it.
Second wave of depression.

And then I decided to google it and rmb that i have a "find my ipod" APP.
Just log on to https://www.icloud.com
Located my ipod and it is really IN MY HOUSE.
But it's quite useless when the house/room is all cluttered and with so many blindspots.

This works wonder i swear!
It will ring even if ur ipod is on mute.
But if my ipod wasnt connected to wifi
I think i'll nv be able to find it again.

Thanks goodness!

beef stew day

Sometimes it's nice to have a housewife sister bcos she'll find time to cook something when she's free.
Today, she cooked beef stew which was surprising yummy.
I guess good ingredients really make the end product better.
She used good angler beef which I don't exactly know what it is
but it came out really soft and tender.
For someone who's not into beef, it taste not too bad and not over beefy.

Babysat this little notti gal in the evening while the mum went out for some placebo concert @hardrock.
She's a little girl with pocketful of tricks.
Cant handle it.
Fed her dinner and she polished it off quite cleanly.
Good job to me.

misfortunes befell

It was or had been a great wkend until an email from lecturer dropped from the sky and hit me hard.
Been so enjoying my holidays I've totally forgotten that we'll be getting back results for our assignments. Didn't give it much thought until I opened the file and freaking realised that I've submitted the copy for turnitin and not the one with reference list.

Sigh.. My distinction just flew away because I got marked down by a grade.
But I shld be thankful because my lecturer could have just failed me straight.

Blessing? Trouble?

:'(

lazy sunday

Our Sunday was spent at the expo because the dear boys want to buy beer.
Ya, Beer.
I think ppl who stays in hall are essentially alcoholics.
They take beer like just another kind of soft drinks after meals.
Hmm. Personally not a fan of them bcos my blood circulation works damn well,
beer kind of makes my heart work too hard.

Anyway, the expo was MEGA CROWDED.
Even going to the loo takes a whole 10 min bcos of the q inside.
Perhaps it's the combination of food fair, electronic fair and john little fair,
I couldnt breathe with all e crowd!
Wanted to buy things from john little but the q was insane.
Prolly will take us at about at hour to the cashier.
Plus we weren't hungry yet and we had to get beer last since we dont want to be lugging the load,
so we decided to hang out abit so the boy cld get some work done, while i read my book.
But obviously, he ended up taking a nap instead.
Lazy bums...

And then we went back to get our stuff.
JL q was still LONG, but slightly better.
Took us about 30min
but at least we get to stock up our food stash for the month.
Him for school; me for work.

And he eventually bought 18 cans of beer.
I swear I wanted to strangle him.
fyi we didn't have the car today.
But he took all the load on his own so I shldnt complain.
And eventually he lugged all 18cans back to hall.

I have a crazy bf.
what can I say =/

it's always the blurred pictures that captures his genuine smile
hmm...

sunny date

I love picnics.
But I'm the kind of girl that wants to lay the mat in the shadier area;
the kind that is too lazy to cook up a storm in the kitchen to prepare food.
I'd rather make either hotdog buns or egg mayo sandwich
then buy ready-made food.

In any case, we finally went on a picnic date after much nagging from me.
I think the last time we went on one was last yr's national day =O
Too long!

So pre-picnic preparation was us trying to buy all the things we need from my ntuc
and it was a wrong choice to bring baby girl.
bcos of her lingering at specific shelves, we werent as efficient as we cld be.

And after a long struggle, we finally stepped foot into the kitchen.

Perfect hardboiled egg thanks to this app (cant rmb the name).
But what you shld do is when the water starts boiling, off the fire
and start the timer on the app.
Once the sand in the sand clock ends, you can start to peel the eggs.

End product~

And finally we're setting off!

REACHED!
It was so sunny today but we managed to find a nice spot in the shade!
Totally no sweat at all!
Brought our frisbee along but we're both lazy bums,
we decided to just people-watch & kite-watch.
It feels so relaxing i swear!

What's a picnic without photographs!
But bcos we were in the shade, the lightning wasnt that good.
But in any case,
It've been a while since we had such a slightly more fulfilling date
Love the breeze and sun :)

work

Knocked off at 230pm when I should only finish work at 6.
Truly TGIF.
Not forgetting all the nice ppl in office.
It was the annual comm session where all the perm staff will need to attend, at an external venue.
This year's was in city area in the early afternoon.
Good thing for temps, we are not required to attend.

Instead of slogging (or slacking. teehee) in the office,
EVERY single person that walked past my desk reminded me to go off early after I'm done for the day,
regardless of the time.
And, I did.

So sweet of them.

Life's blessings come in many ways, big or small.
So loved :)

waterplay waterday

Since it's holiday, and the weather was relatively sunny,
I decided to stop nua-ing at home and bring the baby girl out for some water play.
From super cranky girl to super happy girl.
Life's so much easier if we didn't have expectations. I want to be a kid too!

all set to go out!

I didn't exactly swim swim but holding her and waddling in the pool is so energy draining!
Ended the day with dinner at nihon-mura just outside because we were too lazy to go anywhere else.
And also, to satisfy my sashimi cravings!!

But food was so so. Ramen is definitely a can-miss- smells peppery but tastes absolutely bland. Any fried is not recommended as well. Probably because they use the same batter. Too flour-y for my taste.
In any case, I think today made holiday day 3 more fulfilling. Haha.
The baby girl took record time to fall aslp tonight too
:)

slogging out cleaning up

since I was working ytd,
today marks the first rest day of my holiday.
WOHOO!

But holiday is tremendously short and nv enough
(only 3 weeks bcos exams ended late n all e ph in aug),
I really want to have a fulfilling and meaningful one.

So here goes:

Day 1: Clearing up the desk area
My study table literally suggests the state of my life.
And during school term, it is absolute chaos!
Pieces of paper and things at places at positions they dont belong n all.

before

after

Not much difference after, but it's a good start im sure.
This is mission general cleanup.
Since it is generally clean now,
mission accomplished!

Plus, I've changed my bedsheets too.

After all the laborious work,
I couldnt help it but was in desperate need of a nap and i did
after which I was woken up to a hearty dinner, prepared with lots of love by my dear sister.
Avocado pasta, baked chicken with Ritz crusts, coleslaw and sauteed mushroom.
Her cooking getting better!

bags of bags

I love how there's so much variety in my job scope-
from using SAP to managing budgets, to liasising with vendors,
to working with the marcom and finance team, to calling up winners of marketing campaigns,
to opening the mailbox etc etc.

And, today, to picking up goodies bags from the ground level to my office (lvl 5).
I'm not complaining at all.
Loving the combination of desk bound and free-moving activities.

Well, the goodies bags were in line with the family day event for staff sometime this month which will be held at the beach.
Sounds rather exciting, plus the lucky draw prizes sounds quite tantalizing.
Too bad, temps are not invited.
But still, they decided to prepared goodies bags for EVERYONE in the office,
whether or not you're gg to the event.
So the items in the bags are really fitting the theme well-
picnic mat, handheld fans, towel...

That's the thing abt working in bigger companies.
WELFARE~

me lugging 20 bags at one go. Power or what

first day

Today's the first day of work after being away for almost 2 weeks, 9 working days.
Amazing how the whole world knows I'm on so called exam leave.
Im sure my absence is quite significant
because I received such warm and roaring welcome when everybody saw me at my desk,
and even stopped to chat abit.
Heard the sentence "You're back!" like countless times but each time still warms my heart.

I wonder if i will ever leave this place with all these nice people
*touched*

And because it's the first day after such a long time, I decide to be a bit more OL-looking.
(Im usually alot more sloppy. =x)

sch's out!

YAY!
Exam's over! (like finally...)
Gonna start enjoying days without deadlines while I can.

:)

so close..

What TFIG?
What Happy Weekends?
It's just another normal day (maybe worst!)
when you have examinations on both weekends :(

Unfortunately, or fortunately,
my examinations fall on the first day and the last two days of exam season.
It's kind of sh*tty when you know you ends exams LAST,
but then again you have more time to prepare.
Think of the opportunity cost.
Think positive thoughts.

One more to go!

For the rest of you.

mini road trip

Drove out for late dinner/early supper from his home > bedok 85 > tamp 201 for prata > pasir ris to pick his sis up > his home.
Despite almost knocking off the left mirror, being high beamed by an irritating uncle, mounting a curb bcos a taxi wldnt make way and taking a tad longer than usu to park into a lot beside a weirdly positioned curb,

ALL PASSENGERS SURVIVED!

Anw, practice makes perfect.
Give me a few more years.
Hahahaha

west is best? east is home!

And so, this marks the end of my study camp in the west.
(which means exams is tmr. oh no)
Gonna miss the library that I've been mugging in for the past 4 days,
trying to hunt for seats near powerpoint every day.
And walking through the crowded common area that spells life.
Totally beats mugging at home and facing 4 walls.

Thanks for accomodating.
See you next sem! :)

Jash

Today was study camp day 2 in the west and apparently bumped into a certain yearly affair in the school.
So tagged along with my new found roomies to unwind the exams stress a little after the entire afternoon in the library.

Well, certainly an eye opener seeing uni kids behave like that.
Must be too much stress in school.
A little crazy actually.

The venue was insanely crowded
but I guess that's what gave e ambience abit more oomph than usual.
And being a bystander at the event, you can observe alot of small stories unfolding ard you.
Drama Rama.

But i think i did have my fill of fun
:)

if i were a smurf, this will be how i'll look like.
hmmm. haha

exams exams exams

Mugging Season.
Cant wait for exams to end
:(

water-fall

And so the second night of my study camp in the west bumped into their hall's welcome tea,
which absolutely means lots of free food.
And that,
I cannot miss!
Haha. Had dinner already but decided to pretend to be a freshie and pinch food.

And see how they play prank on new hall freshies.
I actually think it's quite a brilliant idea, how they think it's just a photoshoot
and when their all unguarded the buckets of water comes tumbling down.
BRILLIANT!
The photo says it all. Captured at its moment.

museum date

And so,
we finally made it to the Herman Miller exhibition!
it was the last day they were giving out free tickets.
Thereafter, I think they are priced at $14 if I'm not wrong.
Since we are gg in any case, we might as well go for free.
And so we did.

Quite amazed at how chairs are an architecture in themselves.
The design, the structure, the materials, the angles...
I guess I need to appreciate my furnitures more now.
Haha.
And steal more chances to sneak into my sis' room to enjoy the comfort
of the Herman Miller chairs that the pan family owns.
Teehee
